Root Canal Treatment: 2nd visit Treatment
In Root Canal Treatment after the finishing of first visit and after giving the dressing on the associated tooth, the patient is asked to come for the next sitting on the adjacent day or after some gap of 2-3 days. The next visit of the procedure of Root Canal Treatment includes the steps that are named as Working Length Determination and Biomechanical Preparation.
Working Length Determination
In this step of Root Canal Treatment the nickel titanium files are taken and they are marked up to the length that they have undergone into the canals of the respective tooth. This step can be verified with the help of endoscope or by getting the x-ray done.
This is one of the method that have the basis of x-ray vision to determine the working length in the Root Canal Treatment but there are many for the reference. For example there is a method in which the sensitivity by the patient is the main approach and in this the files are moved on into the canals unless the patient feels some pain. The pain means that the files are out of canals of the tooth and they are pinching upon the periapical area of the tooth.
Another methods of determining working length in the procedure of Root Canal Treatment includes the anatomical shape of the tooth, bleeding on paper point etc but the most advantageous that is without less errors than the other methods is the use of apex locators.
In the apex locators, current is used of minor strength and the circuit is made by attaching one end in the mouth and other side to the file that is going inside the tooth. There can be heard a beep sound when the canal ends the circuit comes to completion in working length determination of Root Canal Procedure.
Biomechanical Preparation
In the next step of Root Canal Procedure i.e. Biomechanical preparation the canals are made wide with the help of increasing size of nickel titanium files and this is done so as to properly filled the root canal filling material which otherwise may not be able to fill the canals properly because the canals are so congested.
In this step of Root Canal Preparation the first file is used of very small number that is of 10 numbers and then the files in the increasing range are used and the debris is removed with the help of irrigating solution.
In doing this step of Root Canal Treatment there is necessity of moving the short number files every time before using the next in series as it helps in loosening of debris and thus there will be no chances of getting the canals clogged.
