Root Canal Treatment: Last Visit
In Root Canal Treatment the canals got free from the pulp tissue and thus it is necessary to fill the canals with some suitable material that should remain in the canals without creating any irritation so it should be compatible with all the biological factors and the material that is used and accomplishes all the factors is Gutta-percha.
In Root Canal Treatment the last visit includes the filling of root canals with Gutta-percha and then the final filling in the tooth structure and with this Root Canal Treatment ends. After Root Canal Treatment there is requirement of crown upon the tooth as the tooth structure becomes so weak after so much cutting due to access opening of the tooth.
In Root Canal Treatment after Biomechanical preparation the master cone that is the Gutta-percha is used to fill the canals. The number of master cone should be accordance with the file number that you have used in last for the preparation of root canals as if you have used the file number of 25, you should take the master cone one number smaller than the file i.e. number 20.
After selecting the master cone in Root Canal Treatment the turn is to see whether the master cone has reached up to the full working length or not and for this either X-ray or endoscope is used. After confirming the full length accomplishment by the cone these are removed and then again put but with having the layer of sealer on it. The sealer can be applied on the canal’s wall also with the help of file.
The sealer that is used in Root Canal Treatment helps in filling the space in between the cones of Gutta-percha so that there left no space for the penetration of bacteria into the tooth. After placing the master cone in the canal the condensation is done with the help of plugger and then accessory cones of small number are used to fill the extra space.
In Root Canal Treatment after filling the root canal the extra cones are cut down with scissors but it is wise to end them with some hot instrument. Now after Root Canal Treatment of the tooth there comes the turn of coronal filling of the tooth that can be done either with amalgam, glass ionomer cement, composite or cermit.
After Root Canal Treatment of the tooth it is necessary to have a crown upon the tooth as it becomes so weak that it can fracture under normal stress.
